People who thought teens would be using marijuana more because of Arizona’s 2010 medical-pot law are wrong, a new study shows. Combined, the percentage of 8th, 10th and 12th graders who reported using marijuana at least once in their lives went from 29.9% before the law passed to 28.7% in 2012.
It's funny how down here all the news is talking about is how teens are getting medical…. but we only have 1 legal open dispensary……
It's funny how data can be a bitch for prohibitionists when we have a fairly rich history of medical marijuana statistics to look at:
“Researchers looked at marijuana use among youth between 1993 and 2009, a time when 13 states legalized the drug for medical use. They found no correlation between legalization of the drug and increased use among teens in a given state. In fact, slight drops in teen use were seen in some states where marijuana was legalized.” /2012/07/prohibition-black-…
Why is it that use is dropping? Perhaps abolishing prohibition actually decreases the access teenagers have to the drug.
