An article on Science Daily breaks down a recent study which found low doses of THC to protect against brain damage after seizures, hypoxia and some toxic drugs. Low doses of THC can even be used regularly for those at constant risk, such as people with epilepsy, to prevent damage.
For anyone that is the least bit concerned about developing any neurological disease that decreases the brain's capacity to function should think twice about marijuana's capability of protecting the brain from such devastating consequences. I for one am deeply concerned about developing any kind of disease or syndrome that would leave me brain damaged. I would like to know that if there is something to all of this research (and I believe there is) that our government would do the right thing, especially for the growing senior population, to approve marijuana on a federal basis to use medicinally for those who need it.
