In a speech in Mexico City on Friday, President Obama shut the door on any possibility that he’ll support efforts in his second-term to legalize certain recreational drugs and said, “I’ve been asked, and I honestly do not believe that legalizing drugs is the answer.”

Sadly, I'm not surprised. This is exactly why in good conscience I couldn't vote for Obama in 2012 (and sent my vote to Gary Johnson). Obama is bought and paid for by special interests.
I'm sure Obama can still change his mind if the political winds continue to change quick enough, but this is probably a 2016 push to get a bunch of new states with legalization on the ballot, where POTUS candidates can't risk angering majority of voters. It also doesn't mean he couldn't be talked into moving cannabis out of Schedule I for medicinal purposes as well.
I'm still not counting on Congress yet, as all of the current cannabis reform bills are considered to have very low odds of passing. We need to significantly ratchet up and maintain pressure on our elected officials!

The war on drugs is a covert and overt scam to filter millions of tax payers money to undereducated, underprepared law enforcement to deal with. If the war on drugs was viable we wouldn't have anyone in the use addicted to drugs, and how do people get the drugs??? We need a war on crooked politicians, wall street thieves, and alcohol kills more people than all illegal drugs put together. And now in the US the CDC reports suicide rates surpass automobile deaths in the USA do to financial or joblessness.// Obamanomics is fiscal euthanasia.
He may say NO.. But We the people's voices are loader then his in every way. Who's say what's good for a person or not,they have the right to decide for them self's. Obama letter to YOU, We the people push for it, but you say no, Well we the People find to Challenge you… Prove your facts of discussion, of how cannabis can harm people,kill people, or even affect there decisions…? Find your facts are hard to prove!!!
