“We’re going to negotiate this bill with the wind at our backs. There’s tremendous support to legalize medical marijuana in New York,” said state Sen. Diane Savino, a Staten Island Democrat, adding: “It’s inevitable.”
It sounds like they're not only pushing for MMJ, but liberal MMJ laws. In New Jersey, there is a very short list of ailments for which you can be prescribed cannabis. And there's that thing about needing to have an "existing relationship" with the prescribing doctor before he can write the prescription. Let's hope NY's MMJ laws are more like California's or Colorado's.
