Marijuana Initiative that Would Close Most LA Pot Shops Heads for City Council

The Committee to Protect Patients and Neighborhoods’ Initiative up for vote by the LA City Council would close down most of LA’s ~1,000 medical pot shops, leaving only ~180 operating. The council can approve the proposed law, call a special election, or put the matter before voters during the next regularly scheduled election (likely May).
