Louisiana House OKs Bill to Lessen Some Marijuana Sentences

Yesterday, the Louisiana House of Representatives narrowly passed a bill to reduce harsh marijuana sentences for possession. Currently, a person arrested for marijuana possession will get up to five years in prison for a second offense and up to 20 years for a third. The bill would reduce this to 1 year for second offenses and 2 years for third offenses.
