Yesterday was declared “Cannabis Day” in Georgia as activists lobby outside the state capital. Moms For Marijuana made a giant quilt, with patches containing various cannabis facts and designs showing the other states that have legalized medical marijuana.
Moms for Marijuana is a great bunch!
My 2 nephews have a criminal record in Georgia for small amounts of cannabis posession
2 youngsters who have never been in trouble with the LAW ,
fines , jail ,probation, drug testing are very lucrative and the industry that profits from these archaic drug laws while violating civil rights with illegal search and seizures
Murderers , rapists and bank robbers get shorter sentences than drug dealers
MOMS save your children from jail over petty amounts of cannabis
support this cause!
This story is far too common for a "drug" that is far less harmful than other substances we accept in our society. We need to stop ruining young people's lives over a small amount of cannabis.
Make sure to let your elected officials know how you feel:

I think that the vast majority of Americans have had enough of this prohibition nonsense. When the government forced the marijuana prohibition onto us in 1937 they promised that it'd eliminate marijuana use and make people safe. But after more than seventy years it hasn't achieved either of these goals!
In fact by shutting down the legal supply of marijuana while at the same time being totally incapable of curbing demand for the herb, the government has created a massive black market for marijuana that draws drug dealers into our neighborhoods and makes our children LESS safe.
We should NOT have laws that create more harm than what they prevent! It is unconscionable for our elected officials to perpetuate the failed prohibition on marijuana that *increases* crime and *decreases* the safety of our children!!
We need to END the marijuana black market and the easy access that it gives kids to marijuana by letting stores sell legally-grown marijuana to adults at prices low enough to prevent illegal competition. We need to legalize marijuana like beer and wine!
Jillian, thank you for sharing your thoughts and great insights. It sickens me as well that our elected officials and those who profit from prohibition have really increased using our children in their misinformation campaigns to try to maintain their power (since they're being debunked on all other fronts, e.g. gateway effect).
As you said, in actuality all its doing is making it easier to obtain cannabis when they are far too young and of course has created a prison nation devastating our young (particularly minorities).
