Florida Rep. Darryl Rouson introduced HB 49, which would outlaw bongs and pipes to be used with illegal drugs. The bill passed the House and the Senate, and now moves to the governor. Luckily, though, since all pipes can be sold as ‘for tobacco use only,’ this measure will do little to change the availability of our beloved smoking devices. Even after the passage of Amendment 64 here in CO, most pipe shops still refer to bongs as ‘tobacco water-pipes.’
This is so ridiculous. Instead of addressing the "problem" (as they see it) they waste tax payer money on bills that can easily be circumvented. Furthermore, Florida should take a hard look at their pill mills before they label cannabis their "drug problem".
