Seattlepi received a news tip Monday night from The Copenhagen Post’s news editor, Justin Cremer, who explains that city officials in the capital of Denmark are anxious to legalize marijuana there and import cannabis supplies from Washington, Colorado or both.
After reading the article, I came to a few conclusions.
One, I do agree that as of right now, exporting Marijuana to a foreign government would be counter productive in the current push to getting it Decriminalized, or fully legalized, here in the U.S. I agree with Gov. Inslee as trying to keep Washington's pot in Washington. This will only help our case Nationally of getting MJ fully legal then we can go from there.
I also started thinking about Marijuana exports in the future. You could tax the Importer and Exporter and the product itself. The prospect of other countries importing American grown weed could reap serious economic benefits in the future. As the U.S. policies change, I think other countries will follow and the trade that could take place in the legal marijuana industry, both within our own borders and outside, is exactly the type of new industry this country needs.
