Washington’s Liquor Control Board released draft regulations for the state’s legal marijuana industry yesterday.
The draft regulations include:
- Tracking marijuana from seed to store, most likely setting up a system similar to Colorado’s.
- Limiting the number of retail stores in each county. Growers and processors will not be limited in this way.
- Brace yourselves, fellow Weedists…there will be no allowed sale of marijuana extracts like hash and BHO (butane hash oil).
- All marijuana-related businesses must have security systems, 24 hour cameras and insurance.
- All marijuana products will be labeled with a “May be Habit Forming” label.
- A person may qualify to obtain a license to grow, sell or process marijuana only if they have not had a felony in the past decade or two misdemeanors in the past 3 years. Marijuana crimes may be waived.
Remember, these are just draft regulations. I’m sure they’ll change a bit before anyone is allowed to apply for a license.
