This week’s Piece of the Week is a real treat, a live milk demo of a collabo between two of the glass industries heaviest hitters. Steve Bates and Worm set trends in both the heady and scientific disciplines of pipe making. This beauty certainly has both- meet the Bates/Worm Worked Diffusion Pump. Dab fans and percolation geeks will be smitten with this kitten. In this writer’s humble opinion, it dabs it way right into a special category I like to call “heady couture”, pieces that hit all new highs in looks and functionality.

About the Worked Bates/Worm Diffusion Pump with Boxfan Space Dome
This sump pump of sorts is reportedly modeled after real lab gear. It’s designed to suck while feeding a continually metered amount of water to precisely mix the smoke as it passes by the carb. The SUPER cool looking ball is like a valve, it allows the water in and there is a small constriction that keeps the ball in place.
The fact that the perc is worked and the nail is sporting a signed 1-off Box Fan Space Dome really takes this guy to new heights. Special thanks to my buddy over at b2 Glass in Upstate NY for providing the demo. Imagine, not even a tenured glass guy gets to own one of these; it was just a loaner! I’d of given a fat sack just to take a snap… #lightersup
