Michael Phelps won his 19th Olympic medal with a gold medal-winning team performance of the 4×200-meter freestyle relay. Phelps has now surpassed Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina (1956-1964) in career medals!

Phelps’ 19 medals are 15 gold (six more than anyone else), 2 silver and 2 bronze. Latynina won nine golds, five silvers and four bronze.
